Kate was a prolific writer. Her work has been published both in the USA and the UK. Many of her poems were created as collections around a theme. There are also many one-off works. For accessibility within this site the poems have been allocated to specific collections. There are twelve in all and they are viewable on the pages of flip books embedded into the website.

Someone’s Got To Love The Child
A selection that reflect upon the experiences of childhood.
America & Father Poems
In the early 50’s when Kate was 5 years old she was flown unaccompanied to the USA to join her mother Evelyn. They lived in New York and California for 3 years. The poems in this collection are inspired by memories and reflections of that experience.
Circus Poems
A collection of poems inspired by the theatre of Circus and its people.
Colour Poems
Colour provides the theme and inspiration for this collection of poetry. Kate was art trained and visually very aware of the important part that colour plays in our lives.
Opium Tales
A collection of poetry based on mid 19th century China and the Opium Wars between the Quing Dynasty and Western Powers.
Nijinsky
Poems inspired by the life of Vaslav Nijinsky the Russian ballet dancer. Kate was a trained dancer and the subject of this collection was of special interest to her.
Witches
This small anthology of poems is about the persecution, in the late 1500’s of women (and some men) who were accused of being witches.
Trakl
George Trakl was an Austrian poet who served in the 1st World War as a medic. Profoundly disturbed by all that he witnessed, he eventually took his own life. Kate researched the man and his poetry and this small collection was inspired by that research.
Kafka
These poems were born out of Kate’s love for Kafka’s writing. She became especially interested in the writer and his work after a holiday to Lake Garda and visiting a small museum there dedicated to his memory.
